    Health Kits

The LWR's recent shipment to Haiti has depleted their stock of health kits. So during this season of Lent, the Sunday School - with the help of the congregation - will be making LWR Health Kits. You can bring one item, several items, or a whole kit. Our goal is to make at least 75 kits. Please bring your donation to church by Easter Sunday, April 4th. Then on Sunday, April 11th, we will put the kits together during the Sunday School hour. One Health Kit includes:
One hand towel, dark color recommended
    One washcloth, dark color recommended
One bath-size bar (4-5 ounces) of soap, any brand, in its original wrapping
One adult-size toothbrush in its original packaging
One sturdy comb with packaging removed
One metal nail file or nail clippers with file attached, remove packaging - no             cardboard files
Six Band-Aids or similar brand, 1/2-3/4 inch, secured together with a rubber             band
$3 (approximate cost to handle and ship one kit overseas plus the cost of                     toothpaste which has to be added at the warehouse

           First                      Communion                Instruction
During Holy Week Zion Lutheran will provide instruction for 5th grade students in preparation for First Communion. The class is also open to youth in other grades who may not have participated in this instruction. After instruction children desiring to receive Holy Communion may do so with their parent’s permission. The class will be held Wednesday, March 31, from 3:30 to 6:00 followed by potluck dinner where the entire family is invited. On Thursday, the 9th we will observe Maundy Thursday and gather for worship at 7:00 PM where we will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion, this would be an ideal opportunity for First Communion. Please contact the Church Office with your RSVP. Parents and adults would be welcomed to help assist with the class.

Sunday School Christmas Program

The Sunday School Christmas program was on Sunday, December 20th. This year’s program, “Messengers for the Messiah” was a worship service led by the children of our Sunday School. It was held during the 10:30 service on Sunday, December 20, and was followed by a Chili/Chili Dog lunch in Centennial Hall that was attended and enjoyed by more than 100 people. The free will offering will  help fund the youth's Milwaukee Mission Trip in July. See lots of photos!
