Youth ages 3, 4, and 5 can swing into a "Rainforest adventure" at VBS
this year. This tree-top adventure into God's Word begins Sunday, July 27th
at 6 p.m. and goes every day through Wednesday, July 30th , from 6-7:30 p.m.
at Zion. VBS will end with a pot luck/barbecue at Trinity on Thursday,

volunteer, please call Kim Lubrant or the church office.
Want to help?
· We need volunteers to prepare snacks and help
serve the Thursday evening potluck. To volunteer call the church office
or sign up on supply lists circulated during services.
· We also need donations of food. VBS Supply lists
will be in the church office and circulated during church services.
· If you are interested in sponsoring a child,
please consider donating $10 so no child is left out. Simply take an envelope
from the poster in the narthex and place in the offering plate.

First

|
On March 17th, the fifth
graders learned about the Sacrament of Holy Communion and also helped
make some bread for the Maundy Thursday service when they would receive
Communion for the first time. Each student shaped a loaf for themselves
as well. See some photos
of the bread making and also of the kids on Maundy Thursday as they get
ready for their First Communion.

Good News
and
Bad News
|
We have good news and bad news: The good
news is that our Sunday School is growing by leaps and bounds; the
bad news is that this leaves our teachers in need of helpers in the
classrooms. Please consider volunteering to be a helper in your child’s
classroom. Extra sets of hands are always a blessing! We are
also looking for more people to be on our substitute teacher list.
Please prayerfully consider joining the Christian Education team at
Zion, contact the church office if you are interested and willing.

Rally Day
2007
|
Rally Day 2007 was a huge success! Our theme this
year is “Put on the Armor of God” taken from Ephesians 6:10-18.
This theme encourages our kids to put on the helmet of salvation,
the breast plate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shoes of
peace, and hold the sword of the spirit and the shield of faith as
they ‘battle daily occurrences with sin; it helps us live for God with
the protection we need, and helps us to reach our maximum endurance
on the spiritual battlefield without becoming a casualty. Several
classrooms have explored this theme in their activities and we will
have upcoming projects relating to them throughout the year. Look for these
to be coming home, and feel free to ask your child about the armor of
God and discuss how to use it daily to live for God!
